Fort Convent High School, Mumbai

CJM, popularly known as Fort Convent is a Government aided secondary school, following the SSC system of Education.

Open to all castes and creeds, the school stands for academic excellence, development of skills, character formation, sports and brings about the total and all round development of every child as a person. Besides academics, the school conducts various activities and celebrates several significant days and festivals.

Our Works:

  • Formal School from Jr. K.G. – Std. X – Examining board State of Maharashtra. Exclusively for girls
  • Pastoral Ministry – helping in Holy Name parish as Lecterns, choir, S.C.C. parish council, distribution of communion.
  • Family visit – Visiting the families of our students and the S.C.C. committee.
  • Social Service – Two sisters are actively involved in Prem Dan, the JM NGO for the upliftment of poor. Our school helps the province NGO Uddhaar financially.
  • Prayer Apostolate – Our ailing sisters pray for the needs of the world and for our ministry
  • Counselling – A councilor is available in the school to help the L.D. children and their parents.
  • Sports – We encourage children to participate in various sports and special coaching is given through special coaches.

      Alumni ………..

    We have vibrant and active alumni working in the school who are educating 100 poor students from                locality. They have also donated new computers for the Computer Lab and Sound System in the hall.

  F.C.P.T.A. –  F.C.P.T.A has completed 51 years of services to the school and very active and collaborative         with the school management.

Facilities offered: A Catechetical Room and Library; with  Science and Computer labs, a Counseling room, Educom-Smart room, 2 Halls with AV installation, a canteen and a committed PTA assistance and Maths Lab.

Other Ministries: The Sisters help and participate in the Pastoral activities of the Parish.

Prem Dan is the brain child of Sr. Felicity Morris,RJM 

She devoted her time and energy in organizing this project way back in 1978. Sister started this Project with just three Children, with no building, taking shelter under a tree.

Prem Dan has developed as a  multiple Project which includes

i)Prem Dan Garden School,

ii)Prem Dan Social Service Centre,

iii)Prem Dan Reay Road,

iv)Prem Dan Geeta Nagar.   

v) Holiday Home Khandala. 

Prem Dan is a home for slum children, street children and domestics who are provided with Education, Nutrition, and other facilities.

The Sisters and the Staff prepare these children in pre-primary classes and later seek admissions in nearby schools and colleges. Some of these children are admitted in the Hostel at Prem Dan Social Service Centre – Kharghar, Navi Mumbai and educated at CJM Kharghar School.

Contributions from generous donors help towards the financing of this project.Prem Dan sponsors the education of 750 students from various Schools and Colleges.

Pre-Primary Classes at Geeta Nagar –Mumbai are conducted for the children of the locality who are later admitted to the Primary Schools in the vicinity.

  1. Reay Road School

  Pre- Primary Classes at Reay Road mainly for migrant Tamil Community who dwell in slums in the vicinity. They too are provided with Education and Nutrition and Sponsorship  and Boarding facilities.
